Frequently Asked Questions

Everything people usually ask before their first consultation, and a few things worth knowing once you're planning with Canvas Travel Club.

What exactly happens during the 100% free consultation?

It's a relaxed conversation, not a sales call. We'll talk through where you're thinking of going (or where you're stuck deciding), who's coming with you, your budget and how you like to travel. By the end, you'll know whether it makes sense to move forward, and there's no pressure either way.

Is the first consultation really 100% free, with no catch?

Yes. There's no fee, no obligation to book anything afterward, and no follow-up sales pressure. If the advice was useful and you'd like to support the site anyway, buying me a coffee is always appreciated, but never expected.

How is this different from just booking everything myself online?

Booking sites hand you more options than anyone can meaningfully compare in an evening. I do that comparison work for you, and unlike a generic search result, the recommendations are shaped around how you specifically like to travel, not whatever is algorithmically trending that week.

Can you build a completely custom itinerary, or do you work from set packages?

Every itinerary is built from scratch around your preferences: destinations, pace, accommodation style, activities and budget. Nothing here comes from a template package.

Is there a destination you don't cover?

Unlikely. Canvas Travel Club is destination-independent, covering everything from a weekend city break to a multi-country itinerary. Wherever you're thinking of going, it's worth starting the conversation.

How long does it take to get my personalized plan back?

Turnaround depends on how involved the trip is, but you'll typically hear back within a few days of the consultation with a first draft to react to.

Will I get a chance to ask for changes?

Yes, as many rounds as it takes. The plan isn't finished until it actually feels right for you.

Do you handle the actual bookings, or just give recommendations?

That depends on how hands-on you'd like it to be, we'll cover the options during your consultation. At minimum, you'll get clear recommendations and everything you need to book confidently yourself.

What information should I have ready before the consultation?

Nothing formal, just a rough sense of where you're headed (or torn between), roughly when, who's coming, and any budget range in mind. The rest gets figured out together.

How do I get started?

Reach out through the contact form and share a little about the trip you're picturing. You'll hear back within a day, usually sooner.

Can you help plan trips for groups or families, not just couples?

Yes, group size doesn't change how this works. Whether it's a solo trip, a couple, a family with kids, or a group of friends, the planning process adapts to who's actually travelling and what they each want out of it.

What if I only have a rough budget in mind, not an exact number?

That's completely normal, and enough to start with. A range is enough to narrow down realistic options, and we can tighten it up once you see what different budgets actually get you.

Do you help with visas, passports or travel insurance?

I'll flag anything relevant to your specific trip, entry requirements, recommended vaccinations, or insurance worth considering, but the actual applications and purchases are something you handle directly, since those depend on your nationality and personal circumstances.

I've already booked flights or a hotel. Can you still help?

Absolutely. I can build the rest of the plan around what's already locked in, or help you weigh up whether those bookings still make sense once we've talked through the full trip.

How far in advance should I reach out?

Earlier generally means more availability and better prices, but there's no strict cutoff. Plans have come together on short notice before, it just means fewer options to compare.

Is there a minimum trip length or budget to work with you?

No minimum. A long weekend and a six-week trip get the same level of attention, just scaled to what actually matters for a trip that size.

How do we communicate, email, phone, or something else?

Whatever's easiest for you. Most people start over email or the contact form, and it's easy to move to a call if the trip has enough moving parts to make that faster.

What happens if my plans change after I've received my itinerary?

Just get in touch. Plans shift, and revising the itinerary around a new date, budget or destination is part of the process, not an extra ask.

Can you plan multi-country or multi-destination trips?

Yes, that's often where outside planning help matters most. Sequencing destinations, transit and pacing across multiple stops is exactly the kind of thing that's easy to get wrong planning solo.

Do you take a commission from hotels or airlines?

No. Recommendations are based on what fits your trip, not on what pays a referral fee. If that were ever to change, it would be disclosed clearly, not buried in fine print.

Is my personal information kept private?

Yes. Details you share are only used to plan your trip and follow up with you, never sold or shared elsewhere. The full privacy policy, linked in the footer, covers the specifics.

Can I come back for help planning a future trip too?

Of course. Plenty of people come back for their next trip once they know how this works. There's no limit on how many times you can start a new consultation.

Still have a question?

Send it over, no question is too small before your first 100% free consultation.
